“entertaining and intellectually engaging…” -McGill Tribune
Two humans seeking a better way of life arrive in the fabled land of birds. Soon, they begin to recreate this newfound paradise in their own image, with no regard for the occupants of the land. Nolan’s potent adaptation of Aristophanes’ classic play re-situates it to Turtle Island, examining the Indigenous / settler relationship and respect for the land with an insightful wit and lasting resonance.
The Birds is approximately one hour and ten minutes in length with no intermission.
