About the Show

A witty and eye-opening story of four young women fighting for education and self-determination against the larger backdrop of women’s suffrage.

Set in 1896 Cambridge, where graduating with degrees was a privilege reserved for men. As these feminist pioneers navigate the challenges and prejudices faced as intelligent, independent women, they also struggle with love and societal expectations.

“Leave the theatre reflecting on the extent to which times have changed”
– The Oxford Culture Review

Content Advisory: Blue Stockings contains the use of water-based haze, as well as mature themes and violence.

An amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
