Iris’s career has spanned more than 40 years both as a performer and as a dialect coach. Iris trained in the U.K. and is a former member of The Royal Shakespeare Company. She has worked at The Stratford Festival Theatre in Ontario both as an actor and vocal coach. She was Head of Acting at the Ryerson Theatre School and holds a doctorate from The University of Toronto. Since coming to the West Coast, Iris coaches at RailTown Actor’s Studio in Vancouver and is a performer and dialect coach at The Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre in Victoria. As a member of The Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre Company, she performed in Uncle Vanya, My Fair Lady, GasLight and most recently in MacBeth where she played eleven different characters.This past summer she performed in a groundbreaking multi-media verse play called “The Hidden City”. She is the author of an actor’s voice workbook, THINK, BREATHE, SPEAK.  She also teaches at the American College, Dublin.  She is honoured to have been invited to return to CCPA – as a member of the acting faculty and work with some of the most talented students in Canada.
