Sara has been teaching students of all ages from beginners to professional singers and actors for over 35 years. She began her teaching career at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and has taught voice at St. Margaret’s Girls School and Vocal Jazz at Glenlyon Norfolk School. In 2014/15 she was Acting Artistic & Education Director at CCPA.
For 20 years Sara was director of the Muse Performing Arts Studio in Victoria, teaching private voice, musicianship, acting and musical theatre. Her students have been recognized for outstanding achievement at all levels as emerging and professional artists.
Throughout her life Sara has expressed her passion for music and theatre in her involvement in numerous productions both on and off stage. She has enjoyed playing leading roles in community theatre productions in both standard and new works. She continues to perform as a singer and actor in Victoria and the Gulf Islands.
Sara holds a Bachelor of Music (with distinction) from the University of Victoria, AVCM diplomas in Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy, and is a Certified Life Coach. She gives workshops and adjudicates festivals, and is passionate about nurturing and training artists and teachers to achieve their full potential. She was honoured to be the 2016 recipient of the BC Career Colleges Association Excellence in Teaching Award for her work at CCPA.
