James Kot

Guest Faculty

James Kot is a graduate of the University of Victoria’s Theatre Acting Program (BFA). As a working actor, James has worked with renowned coaches and directors from around the world.

It’s James’ approach that great acting comes from a deep understanding of one’s self. As an instructor, James offers a passionate and insightful look into the craft of acting through an emphasis on textual analysis, on-camera technique, and a true dedication to the craft.

Some of James’ film and television credits include CW’s ‘Supergirl’ & ‘Supernatural’, ‘iZombie’, ABC’s ‘Motive’, Lifetime’s ‘Magic Beyond Words: The J.K Rowling Story’, & ‘Fairly Legal’ for USA Network. A career highlight was working in a supporting role, alongside former Bond girl & Medicine Woman, Jane Seymour, on ‘Dear Prudence’, a Hallmark Movie of the Week.

Watch for James in recurring roles in upcoming episodes of the animated series ‘Beyblade Burst’ as Kurt Baratier, as Agent Neil McNeil in ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’, and as Dr. Tommy Madden in Hallmark Channel’s ‘Ruby Herring Mysteries’.

James is an instructor in the full-time program at the Vancouver Film School and in his studio classes at McIlroy & Associates, and has also been a sessional instructor at Capilano University and the Canadian College of Performing Arts.
