CCPA celebrates 20 years of excellence

June 29, 2017

Victoria, BC – The Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) is looking to celebrate its 20th birthday with thousands of its best friends.

In planning the upcoming season, CCPA’s artistic team looks to recognize the people who have been a part of the journey. The college’s year-end production, in April at the McPherson Playhouse, will be a celebration of some of CCPA’s best musical theatre performances from the past 20 years and will feature suites by the creative team of Jacques Lemay and Janis Dunning, the Founders of the college. “We are very excited to be a part of CCPA’s 20th,” says Lemay. “As Co-founders, we have such a passion for the college and for the incredible emerging artists who come through these doors”.

There are also plans in the works to invite back alumni of the college for events and celebrations throughout the New Year with more details to come.

At the same time, CCPA’s 2017-18 season will feature some striking new and classic theatrical productions. Among the productions are Company C’s: The Old Curiosity Shop, a fresh adaptation of one of Charles Dickens’ most classic tales, directed by Sarah Rogers; Wintertime, a modern American play directed by good friend of the college and renowned Actor-Director, Sara-Jeanne Hosie and the hit Broadway musical, Cabaret, directed by multi-award winning director Ron Jenkins. The college also looks forward to returning to the Royal Theatre for a special collaboration with the Victoria Symphony whose audiences are always very appreciative of the college’s emerging artists.
